The shortcomings of Cameroon's electoral process are becoming glaringly obvious as polling day approaches. The combination of an ill prepared and divided opposition and a lack of independent electoral institutions is depressing in a region where a better structured democracy is starting to take root in many countries. President Paul Biya will win a comfortable majority over his 15 opponents and there won't be another presidential election until 2011....
