For a day, peace broke out among the governing New Patriotic Party's (NPP's) presidential hopefuls. It happened at a grand rally at Kosua on 2 December: this was an opportunity for President John Agyekum Kufuor to brag about the party's achievements, rally the troops and quieten some of the infighting around the presidential primaries. All 17 would-be presidents addressed the crowd - even the disqualified Nkrabea ('Destiny') Effah-Darteh, who broke into song.
