The European Force in Chad and Central African Republic (EUFOR Chad/CAR) is due to be deployed between March and May, to protect refugees from Sudan's Darfur region and internally displaced people in the two countries. Most of it will come from France, whose troops actively supported Chad's President Idriss Déby Itno during the recent fighting in the capital, Ndjamena.
