The President is about to sack some selected ministers for corruption but that won’t end the problem

Corruption scandals have become a handy way for President Paul Biya to brighten his image ahead of the 2011 presidential election. They allow him to boost his credentials for the domestic audience, which has developed a hard-nosed scepticism during his 26-year rule, while pleasing international donors. Forestry grabbed much attention in May after an foreign forestry company employee exposed some fraud-prone practices to the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Elvis Ngolle Ngolle, and to several diplomatic missions.
