Two politicians enter the second round of the presidential election, the most open contest since Guinea won Independence in 1958 – thanks mainly to the apparent lack of political ambition of the incumbent military leader, General Sékouba Konaté (AC Vol 51 No 14). The second round was postponed from July and will now take place on 19 September, after the Supreme Court gave the go-ahead on 7 September....
