On 16 April, the Supreme Court began hearings on the petition from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to annul John Mahama’s victory in December’s presidential election. This has quickly become a political soap opera. Journalists eagerly report the courtroom slanging matches and radio stations pore over the gory details of each day’s encounters. No one is certain what will happen.
