Soldiers of tomorrow

The Uganda People's Defence Force is under siege at home and abroad. Its mediation in Sudan looks even less credible than its attempts to dig its way out of its greedy and failing intervention in Congo-Kinshasa. Joseph Kony's rebels have again turned Acholiland into a killing field. Logically, these failures should be blamed on the ruling military triumvirate: UPDF Commander General James Kazini; sometime UPDF Commander in northern Uganda, Lieutenant Gen. Salim Saleh; and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni himself. The apex shows little sign of contrition.
