The born-again Bong mines

The US$2.68 billion Bong Mines deal hands the Chinese consortium led by Yin Fuyou and China Union a 25-year concession for the formerly German-owned Bong Mines in Bong Country, north-east of Liberia's capital, Monrovia. It covers 352 square kilometers and has been only partially explored: it is reckoned to hold at least 300 million tonnes of low-grade (35-45%) iron ore.
