In Beijing in late May, Kenyan Vice-President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka called for more investment in services. Vice-President Xi Jinping, who is likely to become China’s next leader at the end of the year, said China would back a plan to strengthen the United Nations Environment Programme, based in Nairobi, after the Rio+20 environmental conference in late June.
