Chemical of Africa in Lubumbashi pollution row

A dispute over pollution in Katanga between Chemical of Africa – an Indian company based in Dubai – and local miners and non-governmental organisations may hit Chemaf’s expansion plans. The United States-based Carter Center has investigated claims by Congolese environmentalists that Chemaf and Ruashi Mining have polluted both water and soil in their copper and cobalt operations near Lubumbashi.
