Tshwane sets agenda for BRICS summit

South Africa will hold the Fifth Summit of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) group on 27 March 2013 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Although it is consulting with its BRICS partners, as the meeting’s host South Africa is chiefly responsible for drawing up the agenda, which Africa-Asia Confidential has seen, and the hot topics for debate are likely to be Beijing’s exchange rate policy and its trade surpluses.
