Blurred lines and child soldiers

A programme backed by the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) to demobilise child soldiers could be doing the opposite: prompting more abductions of children. It started so well. The integration of David Yau Yau’s Cobra Faction into the regular army provided an opportunity to rescue hundreds of children from conflict, a good news story to help raise funds for education for some of the world’s hardest-to-reach communities.
