ICC aims at Kenya

The International Criminal Court Prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, succeeded on 19 August in her appeal against the court's judges' decision not to hear evidence on whether or not the Kenyan government was guilty of non-cooperation. Nairobi failed to provide Bensouda with records pertaining to President Uhuru Kenyatta on request, and the ICC later withdrew its charges of crimes against humanity against him. The Prosecutor's Office had asked the judges to rule whether Kenya had violated the terms of the Rome Statute, the treaty governing the ICC, by not cooperating with her. The prosecutor's plea was denied, and it's her appeal against that decision that has now been allowed.
