Together against Jerry 

From a jumble of old enmities and personal ambitions an opposition pact is emerging 

A streak of cold-blooded rationality is emerging in Ghana's opposition. Against expectations, the two main Nkrumahist and Danquah-Busiaist groupings are forging an effective alliance, choosing common candidates on a united platform. Within a month, they plan to agree a common ticket for the presidential election. Plenty of obstacles remain (mainly those of personal ambition). However, party members are demanding an effective alliance against President Jerry Rawlings and his National Democratic Congress in the 10 December legislative and presidential elections.
