Shifting borders south

The European Union is set to intensify its migration control regime at a summit of EU leaders on 20 October. The European Commission will present reports on the Migration Partnership Framework it hopes to agree with Ethiopia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria and Senegal, originally proposed in June. Commission officials say the EU wants the first agreements by the end of 2016.
