Frauds uncovered in state pension and other public savings schemes are set to escape President Magufuli's anti-corruption blitz

It is looking increasingly likely that President John Magufuli's anti-corruption campaign will steer clear of investigating the abuse of state pension funds, including the National Social Security Fund. Since the end of the one-party state in the 1990s, Tanzania's five pension funds have become a major hub of nepotism and political corruption.
