Millennial crisis

Rich countries cannot agree on policies to boost African economies

African economies will still fail to meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) on poverty reduction, health and education, according to the latest analysis released at the International Monetary Fund's and World Bank's annual meeting in Washington on 2-4 October. This sober stocktaking at the meeting and at the United Nations General Assembly last month has prompted calls for far more radical measures to boost Africa's economies.
