After more delays and disputes, some of the would-be government heads home

When the new Transitional Federal Government (TFG) made its grand departure from Nairobi, representatives of the international community lined up to wish President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed well and his aircraft took off for his transitional headquarters at Jowhar. It never got there. Instead, it landed in Djibouti. The new President had decided it was more important to attend a meeting of the Group of 77 (G77) developing countries in Qatar than to go to Somalia. Meanwhile, back in Jowhar, some 90 kilometres north of Mogadishu, his only weighty ally from the important Hawiye clan, Mohamed Habib Omar 'Dhere', spent hours waiting in vain at the airport.
