Mission to China

President Robert Mugabe has brought forward his trip to China by a week to 23 July in an attempt to negotiate an economic rescue package. He wants Chinese help in tackling foreign currency and fuel shortages. South Africa worries that Mugabe is trying to play it off against China. He made a similar aid plea on 12 July to SA Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.
