The SLPP has chosen its flag bearer for the 2007 polls, with corruption the main issue

Only a political avalanche could alter the dominance of the governing Sierra Leone People's Party before the elections in February 2007. Vice-President Solomon Berewa, also known as 'Solo B', was chosen by the SLPP delegates' conference in Makeni on 4-5 September as party leader, making him favourite to win the presidency. Many say that Berewa, notably more energetic than President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, already acts like the real president.
