The big cleanup is on hold. In May, a parliamentary committee delivered its report on state contracts signed during the civil wars of 1996-97 and 1998-2003. The report has not been published and the Assemblée Nationale has set no date for discussing it. Members privately explain that some of its contents are 'ultra-sensitive', meaning that it is highly critical of members of the 'presidential space' - President Joseph Kabila and his four vice-presidents.
