As worries grow about air safety in Africa, the European Union has released a new list of 91 (mostly African) airlines banned from entering its airspace. It claims the list will help maintain safety standards - but virtually none of the lines listed fly to Europe. Most would be barred from EU airports because they don't meet noise-level requirements.
