Khalifa in court

The celebrities were missing from Algeria's 'trial of the century' at Blida Criminal Court, when Judge Fatiha Brihimi sentenced fugitive banker Rafik Abdelmoumen Khalifa to life imprisonment. The creator of El Khalifa Group was still in exile in Britain and star defendants also missing included former Central Bank Governor Abdelwahab Keramane, who claims he was framed to cover up wrongdoing by the ruling clan.
