It's go-go with Gono

Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Gideon Gono’s first five-year term expires in November 2008. The Movement for Democratic Change insists that his replacement take a more conventional view of a central banker’s duties. Gono has stretched the RBZ’s role into almost every corner of the economy and built a patronage base which rivals that of President Robert Mugabe himself.
