Truth and Kiplagat

The position of Bethuel Kiplagat, Chairman of Kenya’s Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission, is under serious threat since the calls for his resignation by South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu and ten other heads and members of earlier truth commissions. The crisis will go deeper than Kiplagat’s personal position and raises questions about how long the TJRC will last or whether it will be able to operate at all.
