Odds now on Condé

Former Prime Minister Cellou Dalein Diallo is no longer the favourite to win the second round of the presidential elections, due on 24 October, after several sackings at the Commission électorale nationale indépendante. His rival and long-time oppositionist Alpha Condé had accused CENI directors of presiding over electoral abuses, which he claimed favoured Diallo in the first round of voting. But CENI's new President, Louncény Camara, is now suspected of favouring Condé.
