Banker for Benin

Abdoulaye Bio Tchané, the Governor of the regional Banque ouest-africaine de développement, this week officially launched his bid for April’s presidential election in Benin. This had been long expected and ABT, as he likes to be known, has had one eye on domestic politics while pursuing his career as an international banker. He will be hoping that the similarities with the career of Alassane Dramane Ouattara, who also goes by three initials, ‘ADO’, and also served with the International Monetary Fund – will end there.
