Six in the dock

Suspects played the ethnic card during mass rallies at home before flying to the Netherlands to appear in court

Six leading Kenyans faced, on 7-8 April, a kind of justice they are not used to at home. The three formed the Court's Pre-Trial Chamber, which decides if a case is ready to go before the full court; Kaul was the dissenter when the PTC decided by two to one in December that Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo should open the Kenya cases. The suspects received their summonses in March: Henry Kosgey, Joshua arap Sang, Uhuru Kenyatta, Francis Muthaura, Mohammed Hussein Ali and William Ruto.
