Revised downwards

The International Monetary Fund’s World Economic Outlook projects African gross domestic product growth at 3.7 per cent this year, compared to its earlier forecast of 4.8 per cent. Next year, it projects a growth rate of 4.7 per cent, again a downward revision. Yet this still means Africa is the world’s fastest growing region: projected growth in Asia is 1.8 per cent this year and 3.8 per cent next, while for the Americas, it’s 2.8 per cent and 2.7 per cent for the same years.
