Former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP and former Head of the Nigerian Ports Authority.

Career: Chairman, Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), 1999-03; Director General, Yar’Adua-Jonathan Presidential Campaign Organisation, 2001; National Vice-Chairman, People's Democratic Party (PDP), South West, 2001-08; jailed, 2009.

Commentary: Bode George's time as Chairman of the NPA was riddled with accusations of corruption and mismanagement. Over 800 million naira disappeared from the NPA coffers during the time he ran the agency. His daughter later paid N80 million for the house of Alhaji Alhaji, a former Permanent Secretary of the Minister of Finance.

On 7 August 2008, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested George for crimes including the illegal award of contracts. He was found guilty in October 2009 and sentenced to two years in prison.
