Commentary: Paa Kwesi Nduom ran for president in 2008 on the ticket of the CPP, but secured only 1.3%
of the vote. Although he held various ministerial positions in John
Agyekum Kufuor's government he was not a member of the New Patriotic
Party (NPP). As leader of Kwame Nkrumah's CPP, he failed to
convince Samia Nkrumah, daughter of the party's founder, to run
alongside him in the 2008 elections.
Nduom has a number of
investments in Ghanaian companies including Coconut Grove Hotels, Gold
Coast Securities and First National Savings and Loans Bank.
