Trader beware!

Chinese traders already feeling the heat from local competitors in Kenya, Malawi and Uganda now face new regulations and restrictions to their activities after protests by local businesses. Malawi has followed through on its plans to limit Chinese merchants to its four largest cities. In Kenya, where Chinese shop owners have received threats from their local rivals, the government is also rolling out new measures that will cap the number of foreign workers and which Chinese businessmen fear will reduce their access to market.
