With more Chinese nationals and businessmen in Africa than ever before, the Beijing government has much to do when it comes to protecting its citizens. After a wave of attacks targeting Chinese residents in Angola in 2012 (AAC Vol 5 No 12), Meng Jianzhu collaborated with the Angolan authorities to help to combat Chinese organised crime syndicates operating in the country.
