Shame about the list

President Kenyatta is gutting the anti-corruption bodies after purging mostly his deputy’s allies from public life

Since early March, the Jubilee government has been riven by charge and counter-charge over corruption. President Uhuru Kenyatta appeared to silence his critics by publishing a 'list of shame' of 175 allegedly corrupt government officials on 31 March. That took many people by surprise but now that the two remaining commissioners of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have been dismissed, the President's motives and the underlying issues are becoming clearer.
