The monarch is trying to manage change before it moves too fast for him and his court 

The Royal Cattle Byre at Ludzidzini had never seen anything like it. On the sacred site where the kings of Swaziland have since time immemorial listened to their people's views and fostered decisions by consensus, there was heckling, booing and even fist-fights. At the 'People' s Parliament' from 8 -11 May, speeches by traditionalists (except for King Mswati III and his guests, Botswanan President Ketumile Masire and South African Foreign Minister Alfred Nzo) were greeted with derision. Police were called in to clear the area.
