Everyone's fault but Zuma's

The beleaguered President believes the best defence is attack as he blames white business and the West for his woes

President Jacob Zuma has been trying to undermine his critics by claiming that all public attacks on his actions – whether in the media, from opposition parties or within the governing African National Congress (ANC) – are orchestrated by 'white monopoly capital'. That means white business people who, he maintains, oppose his policy for 'radical economic transformation'. Zuma's faction interprets this policy to mean taking white-owned land without compensation, getting white-owned companies to give more shares to black people, awarding most state contracts to black-owned companies and employing more blacks in the state sector.
