Opposition's ailing fortunes

The sudden decline in Morgan Tsvangirai's health is a heavy blow to prospects of a united anti-ZANU-PF front in the next elections

Opposition hopes are fading that a repeat of the massive poll victory for President Robert Mugabe and the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) in 2013 can be avoided at the 2018 general election. Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Morgan Tsvangirai's cancer has taken a turn for the worse and he is now in a Johannesburg hospital as doubts grow about his ability to lead a campaign.
