Election credibility on trial

With his party winning new ground in state elections, the opposition presidential candidate alleges systematic voter fraud

Promising to call evidence from forensic scientists, statisticians and psephologists, the People's Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar filed his petition challenging the official results of the 23 February election that gave Muhammadu Buhari another term in the presidency. Atiku's strategy is to sow as much doubt as possible about the legitimacy and credibility of the 2019 elections at national, state and local government level.
