Kolélas death leaves void

Although former finance minister Mathias Dzon and other minor candidates have challenged provisional results awarding Denis Sassou-Nguesso a crushing 88.57% of the votes, the most significant legacy of the 21 March presidential election is the void left in southern Congolese politics by the death of Guy-Brice Parfait Kolélas – who placed second, on 7.84%.
