MDC muddle

The opposition Movement for Democratic Change is split, and the future of Morgan Tsvangirai, its leader, is in doubt. Tsvangirai wants to boycott the coming elections, as voting would seem to legitimise President Robert Mugabe's government. The rival MDC faction, led by its Secretary General, Welshman Ncube, wants to take part and frustrate the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front's plan to control both houses of the legislature.
