The West's weakness

Military options were proposed on 1 October in the Washington Post by ex-President Bill Clinton's Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Susan Rice and National Security Advisor Anthony Lake, plus another Sudan activist, Congressman Donald Payne. If Khartoum continues to rebuff UN troops, they said, the US should launch air strikes on military targets and block oil exports, preferably with support from the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the African Union.
