Tin soldiers

The commanders of Congo’s army, the Forces Armées de la République Démocratique du Congo, are mining cassiterite (tin ore) and gold in league with the majority Hutu Forces Démocratiques de Libération du Rwanda, say local and international lobby groups. They add that FARDC soldiers are also supplying the FDLR, which wants to oust Paul Kagame’s government in Rwanda, with arms, ammunition and uniforms.
