New rules for the oil business

Oil Minister Rilwanu Lukman is preparing to present a 175-page bill to the National Assembly on the restructuring and management of the oil and gas sector. The contents will reflect the recommendations of the findings of the Oil and Gas Sectors Reform Implementation Committee, which he chaired in 2007-08. This provides for the establishment of a new national oil company and separately incorporated joint ventures with international oil companies.
