World record?

Many have been surprised to learn that Djibouti had Africa's - and possibly the world's - longest-serving Prime Minister. For most people, this fact emerged only when Barkad Gourad Hamadou resigned on 6 February. His tenacity in the post, for a staggering 22 years, partly explains his low profile: he was a faithful servant to the ruling family.
