No horizon

Though this week’s protests in the capital were ostensibly against austerity measures, demonstrators were calling for the government’s overthrow: ‘Khartoum rise up, rise up, we won’t be ruled by a thief!’ They even marched past National Congress Party headquarters in Khartoum North. ‘People are not scared any more – this is why the government is so scared,’ a veteran left-wing activist told us.
