Kissing cousins no more

After Public Service Minister Lindiwe Sisulu and Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande, both African National Congress loyalists, disengaged from an ostentatious clinch on 4 February, they predicted they would be together for the long haul. Not a love tryst but a ridiculing of the alliance between Agang’s Mamphela Ramphele and the Democratic Alliance’s Helen Zille which, although sealed with a public kiss, ended in equally public acrimony on 2 February. After the pair fell out, the ANC is more confident than ever of an overwhelming victory in this year’s general elections (AC Vol 55 No 2).
