A fight for the FIFA Presidency points to divisions among Africa's officials

African soccer is in decent if not spectacular form. Leading the pack into the World Cup tournament in France this June are Nigeria's talented Super Eagles, ahead of the other African qualifiers: South Africa (fresh from a bruising defeat by Egypt's Pharaohs at the African Cup of Nations in Burkina Faso in February); Cameroon (a declining force since their spectacular performance in 1990); Morocco and Tunisia. The South Africans are also spearheading Africa's campaign to host its first ever World Cup in 2006.
