Righting the rigging

Kenya’s Electoral Commission and Western diplomats have responded with a deafening silence to a confidential report on the 28 December elections by the Democratic Development Donor Group. This effectively questions KANU’s narrow victory: it won 107 seats to the opposition’s 103, according to the Electoral Commission. The Donor Group report argues rigging and malpractice changed results in KANU’s favour in at least four constituencies: enough to give the opposition a majority.
