Career: Commissioner for Works, Lagos State.
Commentary: Williams left the Lagos civil service in 1991 to pursue a career in politics. He initially joined the United National Congress Party before moving to the Alliance for Democracy. He was an unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate in the 1999 Lagos State elections, after which he switched his allegiance to the People's Democratic Party. He ran for governor a second time in 2003, but lost to the incumbent, Bola Tinubu.
Williams was murdered at his Lagos home on July 2006, while his wife was away on holiday.
