President Laurent Gbagbo, under fire over renewed claims that his government is using mercenaries to fight rebels in the north and west, may have thought he was hiring South African security firm Executive Outcomes. While the Ivorian government denies having any contract with Northbridge Services Group, Northbridge says it has been retained to 'provide humanitarian support and increased governmental security'.
